What is Acupuncture?

"What is this unique type of medicine?"

Acupuncture is a natural, therapeutic method through insertion of thin disposable needles into acupoints on the human body.

Traditional Chinese Medicine is over 2,000 years old. The theory relies on the concept that we have energy flowing throughout our bodies. By stimulating certain points on the body with acupuncture, energy travels to different organs throughout the body, reestablishing balance.

The needles used are sterile, disposable, and hair like in size. The gauge and length vary according to each syndrome. The method of treatment is unique and individual. In our services, we determine which channels are affected, the onset of syndrome, duration, and the depth and formulate a treatment plan.

Acupuncture can also regulate the body’s metabolism enzymes, hormones, and biochemical materials, increasing the function of the body’s immune system in order to correct the balance of one’s health.

Research shows acupuncture can be effective for treating health issues by improving blood circulation and strengthening the flow of oxygen to the heart, creating a balance in the body’s biodynamics.
